“March 31, 2016 triumphant sold out at the National Opera of Ukraine premiered the Opera of Giuseppe Verdi’s “Nabucco”. This brilliant staging is another illustrative example of fruitful cooperation between the two countries – Ukraine and Italy in the field of culture. The audience applauded after each performed an Aria, duet and scene, and the finale merged with the shouts of “Bravo!” under the applause of the hall.
The lead roles were performed by leading soloists of the theatre: the star of world Opera stage, soprano Lyudmila Monastyrskaya (Abigail, slave, which is considered the daughter of Nabucco), an award-winning mezzo-soprano Angelina Shvachka, recently received the highest award of the country in the field of culture – the National prize of Ukraine named after Taras Shevchenko, performed the role Fenena, younger daughter of Nabucco, baritone Alexander Melnychuk (Nabucco, the Babylonian king), the young tenor, a year ago joined the troupe of the theater – Valentin Datuk (Ismael, nephew of the king of Jerusalem), Alexander Milev bass (high priest of Baal). Also to participate in the show were invited well-known soloists of the world Opera scene: bass Riccardo Zanellato (Zaccaria, the Jewish high priest), the tenor Alessandro D Acriss (Abdalla, the captain of the Babylonian king), soprano Eliza Muffy (Anna, sister of Zechariah). ”
